About SurfStudio

We’re a small team working on bringing the art and science of surfboard design into the new world.  After working with technologies in different industries, it was clear that shapers were getting forced to use outdated tools.

We’re passionate about using the latest in tech to produce the best user experience possible for everyone designing a surfboard.

Feature updates happen regularly and if something is broken we can often deliver fixes to everyone within minutes.  This means no more waiting around for things to get better.

SurfStudio is about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. From shapers that want to get higher quality customs out quicker to their customers, to the backyard shaper experimenting with surfboard design for the first time, we’re here to make your life better.

We’ve built a strong foundation on the most modern tech. Now we’re looking at ways to let you customise your experience and add some features that have never been done before.

We love experimenting with cool new ideas so you never know what you’re going to get to play with next week!

Luke (Machine Expert)

Luke is a legend. He’s been building AKU Shaper machines for around 8 years and has an undeniable knowledge for how the machines work and what they’re capable of doing next.

We’ve been working closely with him for the last 3 years refining our tech to work seamlessly on AKU Shaper machines.

It’s a super exciting relationship with continued collaborations planned to innovate the hardware and software together.

Tom (Founder)

That’s me. I come from a little coastal town called Kingscliff on the East coast of Australia.

In 2016 I graduated with a degree in computer and software systems engineering with first class honours from QUT.

You can often find me surfing the point at home or fondly lobster diving from the lip around the corner at our reef.

SurfStudio was born from my passion for surfing and tech with the help of some epic people in the Industry.
